About

To say that Sharon is interested in the arts, would be a huge understatement. From Japanese shibori dyeing, to spinning and felting sheep fleece in Wales, to Chinese brush painting in Beijing, the list of creative crafts she’s practiced all over the world is lengthy.

After a 25 year career designing innovative housing that helped seniors to thrive, she decided to redirect her talents into a creative pursuit that not only allowed her to put her talents to use, but to also solve an ongoing style plight. Hats.

And so in 2012, she formed High Spirits. Here Sharon was finally able to create handcrafted headwear that ticked off everything she, and many of her friends, felt that other brands lacked - beauty, comfort, texture and attention to detail. Every design is also adorned with her signature finishing touch - an Amethyst stone, which like each hat she creates, is unique.

'For me, it wasn't just about quality and comfort. I wanted to make hats, handmade in Canada, that were stylish and creative. Hats that said 'I'm special' without the wearer even saying a word. That's what High Spirits is all about.'
